Talos Linux for AI provides the open-source foundation and Talos Cupar manages models, GPUs and private data in one place
SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Sidero Labs today announced Talos Linux for AI and Talos Cupar for organizations seeking to leverage AI for their sensitive data while keeping the data, the models and the infrastructure confined to their private data center under their control.

Talos Linux for AI is an open-source, immutable operating system for AI workloads. Talos Cupar is a commercial platform for deploying and managing AI models, GPU capacity, private documents and data on infrastructure an organization owns. Together they extend the security, manageability and reliability of Talos Linux to AI.
Talos Linux for AI: an open-source foundation
Talos Linux for AI allows GPU support for NVIDIA and AMD, model serving and inference, supervised fine-tuning and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) connectivity to private data sources. Like all of Talos Linux, it is immutable, minimal and managed entirely through declarative configuration, meaning AI infrastructure cannot drift from its intended state.
Talos Cupar: one console for the AI lifecycle
Talos Cupar is the management layer for AI on private infrastructure. From one interface, teams select models and inference engines, allocate GPU capacity through sharding and slicing, configure fine-tuning (including LoRA), RAG pipelines and MCP connectors, and deliver chat and agentic AI applications to their users. Cupar is to AI what Talos Director is to the data center.
“If you don’t control the operating system and servers your models run on, you don’t control your data,” said Steve Francis, president of Sidero Labs. “Talos Linux for AI gives organizations an open-source, immutable foundation for running AI on their own infrastructure, and Cupar makes operating that stack as simple as Talos Director makes operating the data center.”
Yardi, which acquired Sidero Labs in July 2026, already runs its AI platform on Talos Cupar.
“Virtuoso Enterprise, Yardi’s AI platform, is built on Talos Cupar and is used today by hundreds of Yardi clients,” said Rob Teel, CEO of Yardi. “Yardi provides real estate software for managing 15 billion square feet of commercial space and 15 million apartment units, and we are very pleased with the Talos Cupar architecture and functionality.”
Availability
Talos Cupar is now in Limited Availability. Limited Availability customers receive full production support and direct engagement with Sidero Labs engineering during onboarding. General availability is planned for March 2027.
