Caring Men Global, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting male caregivers facing a loved one’s cancer, announced today the Rollout and Fall Program Expansion of its Strong Caregivers, Stronger Survivors initiative. This free online initiative prepares male caregivers to support cancer survivors during the critical transition from active treatment to long-term survivorship at home.
The Strong Caregivers, Stronger Survivors initiative focuses on early warning awareness, emotional support, healthy lifestyle routines, follow-up care adherence, communication, and peer connection to strengthen survivorship and reduce recurrence risk. It addresses a well-documented need in cancer survivorship, as survivors are most vulnerable after treatment, when medical oversight declines and prevention shifts to the home. According to the World Health Organization, approximately 38% of cancers can be prevented through lifestyle changes and other evidence-based prevention strategies, while early detection and appropriate treatment can also improve outcomes for individuals diagnosed with cancer. Strong caregiver support improves outcomes, yet few programs equip men with the training and confidence needed to support cancer survivors, especially in underserved communities.
The initiative currently offers a free, self-paced digital library designed to help male caregivers navigate life after a loved one’s active cancer treatment. Following the Fall Program Expansion, Caring Men Global will introduce interactive cohorts and workshops that provide additional opportunities for learning and connection. Educational modules cover symptom awareness, healthy lifestyle habits, stress management, follow-up care, and communication with healthcare providers. “At Caring Men Global, we believe that empowering caregivers with the knowledge and resources they need is one of the most effective ways to improve outcomes for cancer survivors. Strong Caregivers, Stronger Survivors reflects that commitment by helping caregivers play an even greater role in the health, recovery, and long-term well-being of those they love,” said Stephen D. Peck, Founder of Caring Men Global.
The Strong Caregivers, Stronger Survivors initiative is supported through the foundational contributions of Exelixis and Novartis. “We are grateful for the support of our pharmaceutical partners, whose commitment enables us to expand this important initiative and reach more caregivers and families across the country with life-changing education and resources,” said Stephen.
