Coheso Launches Memory, Turning Every Resolved In-House Legal Request into Lasting Institutional Knowledge

Legal work has always produced answers. Now it also produces the knowledge and judgment the whole department can build on.

NEW YORK, Oct. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Coheso, a leading AI-native legal front door and work management platform for in-house legal teams, today announced the launch of Coheso Memory, a new capability that turns every resolved legal request into institutional knowledge. Coheso Memory captures not only what a legal department decided but why, along with the conditions and exceptions that shaped the decision, and surfaces that reasoning the next time a similar question comes up.

In-house legal teams make thousands of judgment calls a year. Those decisions are made carefully, recorded briefly, and then held informally by the attorneys who made them. As teams grow, reorganize, and take on new kinds of work, that judgment becomes hard to find and harder to build on. Legal teams have long documented their preferred positions, fallbacks, and exceptions for contract negotiation. Coheso Memory extends that discipline to everything else legal does, without anyone maintaining a document.

As matters are resolved in Coheso, Memory identifies the decisions worth repeating and proposes them as positions, each with the reasoning, conditions, exceptions, and prior matters that established it. When a comparable question or request arises, Coheso automatically surfaces that precedent to the attorney addressing it. Unlike a knowledge base or clause library, which records only the answer, Coheso Memory keeps the conditions and exceptions that make the answer usable. Because Coheso is where requests are resolved, Memory suggestions arise as a byproduct of the work itself. An attorney approves what’s worth keeping. No one has to stop and document anything.

“Our team makes decisions and provides legal advice on many issues every day, and there’s a lot we should be able to learn from that work over time,” said Fred Braunstein, Director, Principal Counsel, at Taskrabbit. “I’m incredibly excited about the unique approach Coheso has taken with Memory, which is designed to learn from how our team resolves requests, give the legal team control over what’s learned, and automatically surface that guidance when similar matters come up.”

Positions naturally accumulate the way legal precedent does in case law. A department can trace why a given position holds, which earlier determinations established it, and where it has been departed from and on what grounds. When a position is updated because the business has changed, Memory records the shift and the reasoning behind it. The department’s judgment compounds over time. The answer no longer depends on which attorney happens to pick up the matter.

“In building Coheso Memory, most of our engineering effort went into two questions: whether a resolved request should become a position at all, and if it should, what the repeatable guidance is that would add the most value to the department,” said Aditya Rathod, Chief Technology Officer at Coheso. “The system is designed to separate the particulars of a single matter from the guidance a department would apply again, and nothing it proposes takes effect until an attorney has approved it.”

Coheso Memory follows Coheso’s recent expansion of AI agents, including agents that redline contracts against a team’s own playbooks, and of its Slack, Teams, Outlook, and Gmail integrations, part of the company’s broader approach of making Coheso the system of record for how in-house legal work gets done.
