AGOURA HILLS, Calif., Oct. 29, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — BendPak Inc. today unleashed the OctaFlex™ Series, turning its revolutionary eight-arm car lift concept into reality. This next-generation two-post lift dramatically improves bay productivity, technician ergonomics, and operational precision. OctaFlex makes cab-off repairs, EV battery replacement, and other demanding tasks so much more efficient that it pays for itself. The BendPak OctaFlex 12DPS two-post lift is now shipping.
Since introducing the OctaFlex concept in 2024, BendPak has spent the last two years refining it based on customer feedback and lab testing. The new OctaFlex 12DPS delivers all the functionality of a traditional 12,000-lb. capacity two-post lift paired with a first-of-its-kind integrated 6,000-lb. capacity lift-assist system. While the four primary arms support the vehicle, the four secondary arms can raise, lower or simply hold cabs, drivetrains, EV batteries, suspension assemblies and other heavy components without the need for additional equipment, helpers or bays. When they’re not required, the auxiliary arms can be moved up out of the way, so the lift can be used as a standard two-post model.
Also unique to the patent-pending OctaFlex Series is a magnetic pendant controller with industry-first two-speed controls. The pendant controller lets technicians stand back from the lift columns for enhanced visibility around the vehicle. Each set of arms can be operated independently at either “normal” or new “slow” speed — ideal for the fine alignment and controlled positioning required to install EV battery packs or single-handedly remove and realign cabs and chassis.
“As dealers and independent repair shops continue to struggle with an aging and shrinking technician workforce, they also face surging demand for labor-intensive tasks like cab-off repairs and EV service,” says Jeff Kritzer, BendPak president and CEO. “OctaFlex eases the pressure by helping technicians handle complex jobs independently with greater efficiency and less physical strain, maximizing throughput and profit potential.”
Accelerates Productivity
Dave’s Auto Center in Centerville, Utah, services trucks from all over the United States, performing multiple cab-offs every day across its 25 bays. After installing an OctaFlex lift in the shop, owner Dave Bell says it saves hours in production.
“OctaFlex is a gamechanger if you’re pulling cabs off trucks,” he says. “Not only does it make the cab-off process easier, but since you can raise the chassis while the cab is in the air, you can do brake work, suspension work, change the oil – a lot of the extra jobs customers want done while their truck is in the shop – while you’re waiting for parts. It’s significantly more efficient than finishing the cab-off first and then completing the remaining work after the truck is back together.”
On average, shops can save two hours per cab-off operation using OctaFlex. That means that if an OctaFlex bay is used to pull 20 cabs a month, a shop with a $150 hourly labor rate can generate an additional $6,000 in revenue every month, or $72,000 a year. Customers can calculate their personalized return on investment using BendPak’s interactive calculator at BendPak.com/OctaFlex.
Additional labor savings come from eliminating the need for a second technician or helper. OctaFlex also improves bay utilization and throughput by enabling all work to be completed in a single bay rather than tying up two bays for one vehicle.
Protects Techs
Removing a cab usually requires the tech to spend a lot of time on the floor, checking and rechecking that everything is disconnected. Because OctaFlex holds both the chassis and the cab, technicians can stand comfortably throughout the process. With everything at eye level, technicians can work more efficiently and with better ergonomics. It also eliminates the need to manually move any heavy vehicle components or lift tables — OctaFlex does it all. As a result, technicians are safer, less fatigued, and less likely to experience workplace injuries.
The OctaFlex 12DPS also features BendPak’s proprietary Automatic Swing Arm Restraint System (ASARS) to keep the primary lift arms in place. Much stronger than traditional swing arm restraints, ASARS provides a full 360-degree grip with 10 times the holding power to lock the lift arms firmly in place under the vehicle.
OctaFlex has been third-party tested and ALI Certified (listed as model EV12DPS) to meet industry safety and performance standards.
Prevents Damage
Reuniting the body and chassis can be the most difficult part of a cab-off. One wrong move can cause paint damage or more serious problems. OctaFlex makes it easy. Since the chassis and cab stay aligned on the lift throughout the procedure, the technician can move them together with precision using the pendant controller.
