Three high school students from Culpeper, Virginia, acted swiftly to rescue a family of three from distress on Lake Culpeper this past weekend. The group, identified as members of the local high school golf team, were in the vicinity when they heard cries for help.

According to witnesses, the teens immediately entered the water upon realizing a family was in trouble with capsized kayaks. The stranded family consisted of three individuals, including a young child who was unable to swim. The student rescuers were able to reach the family and guide them safely back to shore.

In addition to ensuring the family’s safety, the quick-thinking students also retrieved the capsized kayaks. First responders had not yet arrived on the scene when the rescue was completed. The names of the student rescuers and the family members have not been provided.
